Ton-Mile Monitoring System
The Ton-Mile Monitor System is designed to keep track of the Ton-Miles on the Drawworks wire so rig personnel know when to cut and slip the used worn section of wire before it becomes over stressed, and a possible hazard.
The Ton-Mile monitor System does this by accurately tracking the length of wire used in operations as the Block goes up and down the mast and how heavy a load is on the wire at
all times.
Two Sensors are used to record the movement and the weight on the Block; an Encoder is used to track the Draw works wire movement and a Pressure sensor (0 to 1000) PSI, to record the Hook weight on the wire. This is converted to Ton-Miles by the system computer and displayed. A visual alarm is provided with a color scale. Scale shows 0-100% of reaching the warning value.
System is easy to install. Setup and Configuration is done on the color touch display screen.
Components used in the Ton-Mile enclosure are CE marked. Sensors are hazardous area and or CE rated and has been proven reliable in the oil field. The cable is shipboard rated, and the Display Enclosure is IEC 60520, IP66 and Nema 4X.
