Israel Medina was born and raised in Odessa, Texas. He attended Permian High School and The University of Texas of the Permian Basin, where he received a B.A. in political science and Spanish. He then went on to study law at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 2013. As a West Texas native, he had the experience of working in the oil and gas industry and trucking industries of the Permian Basin.
Throughout his time practicing law, he gained significant knowledge in those specific fields. Most importantly, he came to realize how dangerous working in those specific areas could be and how corporations or employers contributed to those dangers, specifically through lack of safety training, unsafe work conditions, and overworking employees for financial gain. All of this comes at the expense of the employee.
